It’s officially December, AKA RUSHmas — our month of celebrating RUSHing (see definition below), community love, and supporting Guyanese businesses in a real, intentional way. All December long, we’re inviting our entire community to join us in a simple but powerful challenge:
Spend $1,000 with Guyanese-owned businesses throughout the month.
Together, we want to circulate real money into our own people, our own creators, and our own entrepreneurs — because that’s what rushing is all about.
To make it fun, we’re rolling out a mix of interviews, business spotlights, photos, and conversations about giving back during the season of generosity. We already have videos lined up (with more on the way!), plus we’ll be posting prompts and reminders to keep everyone encouraged and inspired.

What is a RUSH?
With it’s name taken from a portion of the organization’s name, G.O.L.D.R.U.S.H., (that is Guyana’s Overseas and Local Descendants leveraging Resources and Unity for a Successful Homeland), a “RUSH brings together members of our community to provide direct financial or physical support to Guyanese businesses or events. This impactful activity increases visibility for featured businesses, stimulates transactions, and promotes a sense of community and empowerment among participants.”
